Our next assignment was celebration. I feel that this photo was a good expression of celebration. I had a little trouble with the brightness in this photo, so that is an area I could have improved.
Theresa, In your site, I saw some new images that I have not seen but I am commenting to this one since you did not get my comment for this assignment. This assignment was to convey the sense of celebration. The subject matter suits for the assignment because it is a wedding picture and is about celebration. However, I feel it is too easy to convey the sense of celebration. Just like what you came up with the first assignment, I would like to see your creative solution to the assignment. My question to you is “how would you convey the sense of celebration without taking pictures of celebratory event.” This image has a nice vantage point. Composition-wise, I would completely include or take out the pole of the stairs in the left bottom side of the frame. In Photoshop, I would lighten the subject a bit and darken the light downstairs. The first image of Jenna is a very nice portrait. The lighting and her facial expression work very well together.
This is a journey of me growing as a photographer. It will display my work from the very beginning to wherever I may end up. It is a growing collection, so feel free to check back for more updates.
